Several studies were completed in the area of High Speed Lapping for Ceramic Parts. Elements of the project included: Water cooled table designs. Various types of media, including Aluminum Oxide and Micro-Diamond. Effective Media distribution systems. Economic Truing Ring designs. And equipment assisted part loading.
The end results was lowered the production cycle times from 20 minutes to about 2 minutes.
